The exact cook time can vary. Read below for our tips!
Want to make frozen fish sticks in the air fryer? It’s quick and easy to enjoy golden brown fish sticks in minutes!
They make a simple snack or dinner when you’re craving something breaded – and they are best enjoyed with a dipping sauce like ketchup or creamy tartar sauce!

Recipe Tips
- We don’t add any additional oil to our frozen fish sticks. Most frozen fish sticks already contain oil in the breading, which helps them crisp nicely in the air fryer.
- Don’t overcrowd the air fryer so the fish sticks can cook and crisp evenly.
- Ensure the fish sticks are cooked in the center (you don’t want undercooked fish). At the same time, try not to overcook the fish as this can make it dry.
- The exact cooking time can vary depending on the brand and size of fish sticks, your air fryer, and personal preference.

Step-by-Step Instructions

First, preheat the air fryer to 385 degrees Fahrenheit (195 degrees Fahrenheit). Once it’s hot, add the frozen fish sticks (there’s no need to defrost them first).
They should not be touching so that they can cook evenly and get crispy. If you have a small air fryer, just reduce the number of fish sticks you cook at the same time.

Cook the frozen fish sticks for a total of 10 minutes. Flip them halfway through. We use silicone tongs so we don’t accidentally scratch our air fryer.

There are many different brands of fish sticks out there. They all vary in size, thickness, and breading. Also, every air fryer cooks slightly differently, so your overall cook time can vary.

Once cooked, remove the fish sticks and serve with ketchup or tartar sauce. Enjoy!
Storage Tips
We don’t recommend making extra fish sticks to have leftovers. Once they cool, these fish sticks typically get soft and/or soggy if you store them in the fridge. Enjoy them hot and fresh while you can!
But if you do end up with leftovers, store them in a sealed container in the fridge overnight and then reheat them in the air fryer the next day.
