Recipe Tips

Before you run off in excitement to make an air-fried pb&j, read through these recipe tips so that you get the best sandwich!

  • You can use your favorite jam and different peanut butters for this. We used smooth – and it might be better for keeping the sandwich together (specially when flipping) but crunchy will work, too.
  • We typically make our peanut butter and jelly sandwiches with classic white bread. If you use another type (and size) of bread, you might need more or less peanut butter and jelly.
  • Be careful when flipping the sandwich halfway through cooking time since the top and bottom might want to slide apart.

Set the air fryer to 375 degrees Fahrenheit (there’s no need to preheat it).

Cook the peanut butter and jelly sandwich for 4-5 minutes total until slightly browned and crispy on the outside.

Flip the sandwich over halfway through the cooking time – be careful when you do this since the sandwich may want to slide due to the gooey inside.

Storage

To be honest, air-fried peanut butter and jelly doesn’t really store all that well.

The whole reason for making it in the air fryer is so that it’s hot and crispy out when you eat it.

We’d recommend making only as many sandwiches as you will consume!
