The exact cook time can vary. Read below for our tips!
Craving pizza but don’t have any dough on hand? Same – so we made pizza bagels in the air fryer!
Ready in just minutes and so easy to make, these tasty air fryer pizza bagels can be topped just how you want and are perfect for satisfying your inner pizza cravings!

Recipe Tips/Substitutions
Before you make homemade pizza bagels in the air fryer, read through these tips so you know what to expect!
- We normally use plain bagels for the pizza base but have also tried everything bagels in the past and both work well. So feel free to use whichever savory bagel you have on hand.
- You can vary the toppings – we like to keep it simple with cheese and pepperoni. Sometimes we also add olives, mushrooms and/or red onion. You can go as wild as you like – just consider how it may affect the cooking time.
- Speaking of cooking time, since every air fryer is different, and your preferred level of cheese crispiness may differ from ours, you can air fry longer or slightly shorter than what we recommend!
- Speaking of cheese, be careful how much you put on the top because it will take longer to melt. Also, if you put anything loose on top of the cheese (like peperoni), it might blow off in the air fryer’s inner heating air currents. Just check the pizzas and use some tongs to grab them and put them back where they belong if this happens!

Step by Step Instructions
For the step-by-step instructions on how to air fry pizza bagels, you can follow the recipe process photos in this section.
This way you can see exactly how we made our bagel pizzas in the air fryer.
If you’re feeling confident and don’t care for visuals, you can skip down to the recipe card at the bottom of this post for the cooking times and temperatures.

First, cut the bagels in half through the middle so you have a top and bottom.

Spread the pizza sauce on top of the bagel halves – approximately 1 tablespoon per half (more or less to taste).

Then add the toppings of your choice.
Put the pepperoni on top of the cheese if you want it to get crispy or underneath the cheese if you want it to stay soft.
Other toppings we like adding are olives, diced red onion, and sliced mushrooms.

Preheat the air fryer to 380 degrees Fahrenheit.
Once the air fryer is hot, add the pizza bagels into the air fryer tray in one even layer – no overlap!

Cook the pizza bagels for 4-7 minutes until the cheese has melted and is slightly brown.
This time can vary depending on your air fryer, the toppings you put on your pizza bagel, and your personal preference!

Once the pizza bagels are cooked to your liking, remove them from the air fryer, let them sit for a minute (careful hot), and then enjoy!
If you want, you can also serve them with a dipping sauce of your choice.
Storage Tips
Any leftover air-fried pizza bagels can be stored in a sealed container in the fridge.
They will last for up to 3-4 days like this – but eat them sooner rather than later since they might get soggy due to moisture and the sauce.
To reheat these pizza bagels, we’d recommend the air fryer since the microwave might make them very soft. You can also eat homemade pizza bagels cold!

Notes
- The best bagel to use would be a plain bagel. However, we’ve also made pizza bagels with everything bagels before and they were also really good.

Can I make a big batch of these and freeze them to warm up in the air fryer for school lunches?
Yes you can! Simply assemble the bagels with toppings of your choice, then place them on a plate or small baking sheet and place them in the freezer. Once frozen, you can transfer them to freezer bags or containers. When you need them, you can air fry them straight from frozen at 380 degrees Fahrenheit for about 6-7 minutes, or until the cheese is melted (the exact time may vary slightly).
What would the time and temperature difference be for mini bagels for toddler?
Hi Molly, for mini bagels you can keep the temperature the same but shorten the cooking time to about 3-4 minutes. But every air fryer is a bit different, so keep an eye on them and adjust the time as needed.
If you’re making them for little ones, I’d likely skip the pepperoni since it might not crisp properly at the shorter time. Depending on their age, I’d just stick to small pieces of (soft) veggies, finely chopped ham, and/or cheese. I hope this helps!
