Frozen Taquitos in the Air Fryer

Craving a crispy snack or appetizer that is destined to be dipped? Frozen taquitos in the air fryer are one of the easiest things you’ll make this week.

Cooked straight from frozen, they get golden and crunchy without any extra oil and taste delicious when dipped in guacamole, salsa, sour cream – or even all three!

Recipe Tips

  • You don’t need to thaw the taquitos first. Just place them into the air fryer from frozen.
  • There is also no need to spray the taquitos with any oil. You can if you wish, but they will get crispy without it (we don’t usually use any oil).
  • It’s important not to overcrowd the air fryer basket because the taquitos need room to get crispy. If you have a smaller air fryer and can’t fit them all, cook in batches.
  • The exact cooking time can vary depending on the brand and filling of the taquitos and your air fryer.

Step-by-Step Instructions

First, preheat the air fryer to 380 degrees Fahrenheit (about 195 degrees Celsius).

When it is hot, add the taquitos in one even layer in the air fryer basket. There should be a little space between them so that they can cook and crisp evenly.

Cook the taquitos for 8-10 minutes, or until they’re fully heated and crispy on the outside. Be sure to gently flip the taquitos halfway through the cooking time.

Once golden and heated through, remove the taquitos and serve immediately with salsa, sour cream, or your favorite dipping sauce. Enjoy!

Storage Tips

We recommend just cooking as many frozen taquitos as you need since they taste best when they are hot and fresh.

If you do end up having leftovers, you can store them in a sealed container in the fridge for up to 4 days. Keep in mind that they’ll lose some of their crispiness over time.

To reheat, you can either place them back in the air fryer or heat them up in the microwave (they’ll be less crispy in the microwave).
