Craving crispy egg rolls but only have the frozen kind? Frozen egg rolls in the air fryer are the answer! The air fryer makes them super crispy on the outside and hot on the inside in just a few minutes.
These egg rolls make a tasty snack, appetizer, or side to an Asian-inspired meal. Don’t forget about the dipping sauce!

Recipe Tips
- You can place the frozen egg rolls straight into the preheated air fryer – no need to thaw them first.
- You don’t usually need to add any extra oil to make them crispy, since the wrapper usually already contains oil. But if you prefer, you can lightly spray the egg rolls with oil spray before air frying.
- There are different kinds of frozen egg rolls – some with vegetables and pork, others with chicken or shrimp. Some are large, others are smaller. As a result, the time indicated below is just a guideline. Very small egg rolls will be done faster, while bigger egg rolls might take a couple of minutes longer. Just keep an eye on them.
- It’s important not to overcrowd your air fryer since the egg rolls need a little bit of space to cook and crisp evenly.
- For meat-filled egg rolls, the internal temperature should reach 165 degrees Fahrenheit (74 degrees Celsius). Check the egg roll packaging instructions for the recommended internal temperature for the brand you’re using.

Step-by-Step Instructions
It’s super easy to make frozen egg rolls in the air fryer. If you want to see how we make ours, you can have a look at the photos in this section.

First, preheat your air fryer to 380 degrees Fahrenheit (195 degrees Celsius).
Once it’s hot, place the egg rolls in the air fryer basket. Be sure to leave some space between the egg rolls so that they have room to cook evenly and get crispy.

Cook the egg rolls for 9-11 minutes total, or until fully heated through and crispy on the outside. Flip the egg rolls halfway through the cooking time.
There are many different brands of egg rolls and air fryers, so your exact cook time can vary slightly.

Remove the egg rolls from the air fryer and let them sit for a minute or two (the insides can be very hot). Then enjoy!
You can eat them plain, with a dipping sauce – like soy, plum, or sweet n’ sour sauce – or cut them up and serve them as part of an Asian-inspired noodle dish.
We like to make egg or rice noodles and some pan-fried vegetables, and then eat the egg rolls on the side!
Storage Tips
Egg rolls taste best when they are fresh and crispy. If you leave them to get cold, they tend to get soggy (because the filling contains a bit of moisture).
If you have leftovers, store them in a sealed container in the fridge for up to 3 days.
You can reheat them in the microwave or in the air fryer. We recommend the air fryer if you want to make them slightly crispy again.
