Craving burritos? Making frozen burritos in the air fryer can be a great way to satisfy the craving when you’re short on time and don’t want to make any from scratch.

With your favorite burrito brand and your trusty air fryer, you can make this crispy snack or quick meal in less time than in the oven. The burritos are great for dipping in salsa and sour cream – but that’s up to you.

Recipe Tips

  • We don’t usually add any extra oil to the outside of the burritos. If you prefer extra browning, you can lightly spray the outside with oil spray before air frying.
  • The size of the burrito will affect the cooking time. The burritos we use are 5 ounces (about 140 grams) each. If you have larger burritos, your cooking time will be slightly longer.
  • Don’t overcrowd the air fryer basket so the burritos can cook and crisp evenly. Leave some space between them.
  • The filling – regardless of whether it’s meat, veggie, beans, cheese – can be very hot. Be careful when you take your first few bites!

Step-by-Step Instructions

First, preheat the air fryer to 380 degrees Fahrenheit (195 degrees Celsius).

When the air fryer is hot, add the frozen burritos in one layer. There’s no need to spray them with oil first, but you can if you want some extra browning.

Air fry the burritos for 13-15 minutes total, flipping them every 5 minutes to help with even cooking. Your cooking time can vary depending on your air fryer, the burrito brand, and the burrito size.

The internal temperature should reach 165 degrees Fahrenheit (74 degrees Celsius), but this can also vary by brand. Check the packaging instructions if you’re unsure.

When they are crispy and fully heated through, remove the burritos from the air fryer. Let them sit for a minute or two since the filling can be very hot.

Then enjoy them as is or dip them in salsa, sour cream, or another dip of your choice.

Storage Tips

Air-fried burritos taste best when they are fresh. If you have any leftovers, you can store them in a sealed container in the fridge for up to 3 days. However, the outside will likely get a little soggy over time.

To reheat, you can pop the burrito back in the air fryer or the microwave. The latter will make the burrito softer, but it’ll still be okay to eat the next day.

  1. 5 stars
I’m new to owning an air fryer and had a Real Good Foods 8oz burrito. I did it for 15 minutes total, flipling every 5 minutes. Cooled for probably less than 5 minutes total and it was hot in the middle without being lava! Two thumbs up.
