Air fryer breakfast sausages are a great addition to breakfast, and our favorite way to cook them, especially when we only want to make a few at a time.
You don’t need to flip them as often as in the frying pan, but you don’t need to turn on the large oven either. The air fryer also cooks the sausages quicker than the oven and makes them deliciously crispy.

Recipe Tips
- Don’t overcrowd the air fryer basket. Otherwise, the breakfast sausages may not cook and brown evenly.
- Your total cook time can vary depending on the thickness of the sausage links, your air fryer, and personal preference (how crispy you want the outside of the sausages).
- Similar to cooking bacon in the air fryer, you might experience white smoke when cooking breakfast sausages in the air fryer. This is because of the fat content in the meat. It is important not to leave the air fryer unattended – especially if this is the first time making breakfast sausages.
- To help with white smoke, be sure to use a clean air fryer. You can also place a slice of bread in the bottom of the air fryer (underneath the tray) to capture excess grease.

Step-by-Step Instructions

First, preheat the air fryer to 370 degrees Fahrenheit (about 185 degrees Celsius).
When it is hot, place the sausage links in the air fryer basket with space between them.

Cook the sausages for 10-12 minutes, or until they are fully cooked through and crispy on the outside. Gently shake the air fryer basket or flip the sausages with tongs halfway through the cooking time.
The exact cook time can vary slightly depending on the thickness of the sausages, your preferred level of crispiness, and your air fryer. The internal temperature should reach 160 degrees Fahrenheit (for pork sausages).

When they are done, remove the sausages from the air fryer and serve them as part of breakfast or brunch. Enjoy!
Storage Tips
These breakfast sausages are best enjoyed fresh out of the air fryer. If you have leftovers, you can store them in a sealed container in the fridge for up to 3 days.
You can then eat them cold or reheat them in a frying pan, in the microwave, or in the air fryer (or recommendation).
