The ingredients needed to make these fish tacos!

If you want to make these fish tacos in the air fryer, here are the ingredients that you will need.

It looks like a lot, but only a few are for the breaded fish – the rest are simply toppings!

  • White fish (seabass) fillets – Use fillets from a firm white fish such as seabass that will be cut into strips.
  • Tomato – Chopped; as a fresh topping for the tacos, adding flavor and texture.
  • Iceberg lettuce – Chopped; used as a crunchy and refreshing topping for the tacos.
  • All-purpose flour – To coat the fish fillets before cooking.
  • Panko breadcrumbs – To bread the fish fillets. Panko breadcrumbs are best, but regular breadcrumbs will also work.
  • Egg – For breading the fish (helps the flour and breadcrumbs stick to the fish).
  • Salsa – Flavorful and tangy topping for the tacos; you can use mild or medium salsa, depending on your preference.
  • Greek yogurt – To mix with the salsa to make a sauce.
  • Salt – To season the fish fillets.
  • Olive oil – To grease the air fryer basket to prevent the fish from sticking and to spray the fish (optional). Alternatively use avocado oil, canola oil, sunflower oil, or similar.
  • Tortillas – Either corn or flour tortillas can be used.
  • Cilantro, Lime – Garnish; optional.

Recipe Tips and Substitutions

Before you tackle this air fryer fish tacos recipe, read through these recipe tips so that you know what to expect!

  • For best results, use firm white fish fillets, such as sea bass, cod, halibut, or tilapia.
  • If you want a light and crispy texture, use panko breadcrumbs instead of regular breadcrumbs.
  • Don’t overcrowd the air fryer – this can prevent the pieces of fish from cooking and crisping evenly.
  • Spray the breaded fish with some oil spray before cooking so that the breading gets nice and crispy.
  • Keep an eye on the fish as the cooking time can vary depending on the type of fish, the size of the pieces, and your air fryer. You don’t want to overcook them, as this can dry them out.
  • You can add or omit toppings to suit your taste.
