Recipe Tips

  • You don’t need to thaw the frozen wedges first. You can cook them right from frozen.
  • Most pre-packaged frozen wedges have enough oil in them to make them crispy. If you want yours extra crispy, you can always add a little more oil to the frozen wedges before tossing them in the air fryer.
  • Most frozen wedges also have seasoning on them, but you can always add more (like seasoning salt) after they are done cooking if you want.
  • Don’t overcrowd the air fryer basket. The less room the wedges have, the less crispy they might turn out. We use a 6-quart air fryer and it cooks one pound of frozen wedges nicely.
  • The exact cooking time depends on your air fryer, the size of the potato wedges and your personal preference. For extra crispy wedges, cook them a little bit longer but keep an eye on them to prevent burning.

Preheat your air fryer to 385 degrees Fahrenheit for about 5 minutes or until it indicates that it is preheated.

If you want your frozen potato wedges to have a little extra crisp, place them in a bowl and some oil. Toss until they are evenly coated. However, this step is completely optional.

Once your air fryer is heated up, add the frozen potato wedges in one even layer. The wedges shouldn’t overlap much so they can cook and crisp evenly.

Cook the frozen potato wedges for 9-12 minutes total, or until they are fully cooked and the right level of crispy for you.

Shake the air fryer basket halfway through, so the wedges cook evenly on all sides. Since every air fryer is different, your total cooking time might vary.

When they are done, remove the wedges from the air fryer and place them in a bowl.

If you have unseasoned wedges, you can add your favorite (seasoning) salt. Serve the potato wedges as a snack with a dipping sauce like ketchup or chipotle mayo or as a side dish to burgers, breaded fish, and more. Enjoy!

Storage Tips

If you have leftover potato wedges, allow them to cool and then store them in a sealed container in the fridge for up to 3 days.

They will get slightly soggy over time, but you can bring back some of the crispiness by reheating them in the air fryer.
