If you want the best air fryer garlic bread, this is the recipe for you. It’s made from sliced French baguette generously spread with a rich garlic butter mixture.
You can even choose to top your garlic bread with shredded cheese such as Parmesan. No matter how you like it, this garlic bread won’t last long once it’s out of the air fryer!

Recipe Tips/Substitutions
Before you make garlic bread in the air fryer, be sure to read through these recipe tips so you know what to expect:
- We like cutting our baguette into thicker slices that have some crunch but also a little softness on the inside. Others like thinner slices so that the whole bread is air toasted to a crisp. Try both and see which version you like.
- If you don’t have a baguette on hand, you can also use slices of French bread instead.
- Don’t skimp on the garlic butter on top of the bread when you spread it – it will make a difference in taste. Also, make sure that the butter is spread all the way to the edges for even coverage.
- Instead of Italian seasoning you can also chop up some fresh parsley or other herbs and add them in.
- Garlic can turn brown quite quickly towards the end, so be sure to keep an eye on your bread in the air fryer. You want to avoid burning the garlic on top or else it will taste bitter. (Psst. We made air fryer roasted garlic and it’s awesome…)
- Cheese on garlic bread is very optional. Some people love it, others enjoy just a classic crispy bread with garlic butter and nothing else. We usually sprinkle some grated parmesan on about half of the slices since there’s no difference in cooking time.
We use this air fryer for our recipes and it has been great.

First, peel the garlic, then mince/chop it really small. Add the soft butter, garlic, and Italian seasoning to a small bowl and mix everything together.
If you don’t have Italian seasoning, you can also chop up some fresh parsley or other herbs and add them in.

Cut the French baguette into slices, approximately 1 inch thick. You can cut the slices diagonally for a bigger surface if you prefer.
If you don’t like baguette or don’t have any at home, feel free to use 4 slices of French bread instead.

Spread the butter mix onto the slices of French baguette or bread. The butter-garlic mix should be generously applied and all the way to the edges.
Sprinkle the buttered bread with salt and pepper to taste.

You can also sprinkle the garlic bread with some grated parmesan if desired.

Preheat the air fryer to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
When hot, add in the slices of baguette/bread. The pieces should not be touching. If you can’t fit all of the slices into your air fryer, air fry the garlic bread in two rounds.

Cook the garlic bread for 4-5 minutes or until it has reached the desired level of crispiness (just make sure that the garlic doesn’t get too dark since this can make it bitter).
Every air fryer is slightly different, so cook time can vary. Enjoy!

Storage Tips
When you air fry garlic bread, it’s best enjoyed hot and fresh. You should really plan to only make what you will consume because once the garlic bread gets cold it will tend to get a little soggy from moisture.
It’s definitely still edible, but certainly not as good as when it’s fresh and warm!
What to Serve Air Fryer Garlic Bread With
Air fried garlic bread – as an Italian-American invention – is best served with Italian and/or tomato-based dishes.
We always love garlic bread with spaghetti and meat sauce, lasagna, ravioli, tortellini, and all different kinds of cheesy pastas.
Generally speaking, the garlic flavor and the crunch of the bread compliment softer and creamy pasta dishes very well.
