Recipe Tips

Before you head off to the kitchen to make sweet potato wedges in the air fryer, be sure to read through these recipe tips so that you achieve the best results!

  • Try to cutting the sweet potatoes into similar sized wedges. This will help them air fry evenly.
  • We use a simple spice blend of garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper but you can definitely add or subtract spices to suit your specific taste buds.
  • Don’t overcrowd your air fryer! Giving the sweet potato wedges enough space to cook helps them get crispy.
  • Because sweet potatoes are naturally sweet, watch the wedges towards the end of the cooking time since they can have a tendency to turn quite dark on the outside (this is the sugars caramelizing).

Storage Tips

Air-fried sweet potato wedges are best enjoyed hot and fresh. You can store leftovers in a sealed container in the fridge – but the moisture can make them quite soggy.

To bring them back to life (kind of), toss the cold wedges back in the air fryer for a few minutes to reheat them and draw out some of the moisture.

Made it a couple times now. Delicious. Have also made the burger at the same time using the slightly higher temp in this recipe and putting in at 10 minutes left. I’m using a Breville 900 with a sheet pan
