Recipe Tips

Before you make frozen garlic bread sticks in the air fryer, quickly read through these recipe tips so that you know what to keep in mind!

  • There are various different ifferent brands of frozen breadsticks. Their thickness, and any outer coatings or toppings (like garlic butter or cheese) can affect the cooking time slightly. That’s why it is important to keep a close eye on your breadsticks when making them in the air fryer for the first time.
  • You don’t need to thaw or spray the frozen breadsticks with oil before placing them into the air fryer. Usually, frozen breadsticks already contain some oil or butter that will help them get golden brown.
  • Make sure the breadsticks are not touching when placing them in the air fryer. This way they can heat and brown evenly all around.
  • Breadsticks can go from perfectly golden brown to too dark quite quickly when making them in the air fryer. So once again, keep an eye on them!

Add the breadsticks to the air fryer.

First, preheat the air fryer to 380 degrees Fahrenheit. This is not mandatory, but our air fryer preheats automatically anyway.

If you don’t preheat, the cooking time might be a little bit longer.

Once the air fryer is hot, add the frozen breadsticks. Leave space between the breadsticks to allow for even cooking.

Cook the frozen breadsticks at 380 degrees Fahrenheit for 4-6 minutes or until fully heated through and golden brown on the outside.

Flip the breadsticks halfway through cooking time. Your exact cooking time can vary by brand of breadsticks, their thickness, and your air fryer.

When done cooking, remove the breadsticks and serve them right away (but be careful, they are hot).

They taste great with pasta and/or tomato-based dishes. You might also enjoy them with a dipping sauce like ranch dressing.

Storage Tips

If you air fry frozen breadsticks, you’ll want to enjoy them hot and fresh.

Once they cool, they are still good but not nearly as delicious since they’ll lose some of their softness.

You can store any leftover breadsticks in a sealed container or bag on the counter for a day or two.

You can try to reheat them in the air fryer but don’t be surprised if they aren’t as soft as the first time.
