Recipe Tips

This is a pretty simple recipe. However, before you go make frozen beets in the air fryer, read through these tips so you achieve the best results!

  • Keep in mind that beets can stain – even the frozen ones! So please be careful.
  • The cooking time may vary depending on the air fryer you have and the size/style of frozen beets. We used sliced beets but frozen beet cubes/wedges in the air fryer might take a little longer because of their thickness.
  • We added a simple spice blend to the beets but you can add whichever seasonings you like!
  • Don’t overcrowd the air fryer too much – but since the beets are not supposed to get cripsy (unless beet chips) some overlap is okay.
  • Also, the beets can be fragile so if you want to flip them half ay through cooking, consider silicone tipped tongs.

Add the frozen beets to the preheated air fryer.

Once the air fryer is hot, add the frozen beets into the air fryer. Gently shake the air fryer basket so that the beets are in one even layer.

Some overlap is okay because these beets aren’t supposed to get super crispy anyway.

Air fry the beets at 380 degrees for approximately 12-15 minutes for slices, and 14-19 minutes for wedges until cooked through.

Shake the air fryer basket every 5 min to help with even cooking. You can also flip the beets with silicone-tipped tongs if they are more fragile.

The exact cooking time can vary depending on the air fryer, the size of the frozen beets, and your personal preference.

When the beets are done cooking, remove them from the air fryer and place them in a serving bowl. Enjoy!

Storage Tips

Once you air fry frozen beets, leftover can be stored in a sealed container in the fridge.

Properly stored, they’ll last for around 3-4 days.

To reheat, you can gently toss the beets back in the air fryer or in the microwave – they won’t be crispy anyway so the method doesn’t matter that much.
