The ingredients needed to make these crispy potato skins!

Here are the ingredients for air fryer potato skin chips that you will need. It’s amazing how something we usually throw away can make a great snack:

  • Potato peel – Washed potato peels, e.g. from russet potatoes (but peels from other types of potatoes work just as well).
  • Olive oil – To help the peels get crispy. Alternatively, you can use avocado oil, canola oil, or sunflower oil.
  • Grated parmesan cheese – For extra flavor.
  • Salt – To season the potato peels.
  • Black pepper – To add a hint of spice.
  • Granulated garlic – For extra flavor.

Recipe Tips

Before you air fry potato peels and make a tasty snack, here are some recipe tips so that you know just what to expect:

  • Wash and scrub the potatoes well before peeling to remove any dirt.
  • When peeling the potatoes, try to keep the peels as uniform in thickness as possible so they cook and crisp evenly.
  • Pat the peels dry to remove any excess moisture. This will make them get crispier.
  • Adjust the seasonings to taste. For example, you can also use paprika or onion powder as well as dried herbs like rosemary or thyme.
  • Avoid overcrowding the air fryer so that the peels cook and crisp evenly.
  • The cooking time can vary depending on your air fryer and the thickness of the potato peels. Keep a close eye on them since you don’t want the peels to burn.
  • For best taste, serve the potato peels immediately after removing them from the air fryer (but be careful, they’ll be hot).

Storage Tips

These crispy potato peels are best enjoyed fresh out of the air fryer. If you have any leftovers, you can store them in a sealed container at room temperature for about one day.

You can reheat them in the air fryer so that they regain some of their crispiness. But keep a close eye on them since they may fly around in the air fryer and accidentally get caught in the heating element.
