Recipe Tips

To make air fryer toast, read through these tips so you know what to expect!

  • There is no need to preheat the air fryer first when making toast. There’s also no need to flip the toast halfway through cooking time as is the case with many other air fryer recipes.
  • The thickness of the bread will influence the cooking time – regular white sandwich bread usually takes just over 3 minutes in our air fryer. If the bread is thicker than white sandwich bread, leave it in for a few seconds longer. If it is thinner, take it out a little bit earlier.
  • Bread in the air fryer might not get as evenly browned like it would in an actual toaster depending on how exactly the air circulates in your air fryer. The outside is still crispy – but it might not be as evenly brown in color.
  • Keep an eye on this toast since it has a tendency to go from browned to burned rather quickly.

When you’re happy with the toast, remove it from the air fryer.

Enjoy it for breakfast or brunch with butter or runny egg yolk for dipping.

You can also use it for a toasted sandwich such as a BLT. You’ll need bacon for that, as well (which you can make in the air fryer)!

Storage Tips

The toast definitely tastes best hot and fresh out of the air fryer.

If you have extra pieces, you can store them in a sealed bag or container on the counter or in the fridge – but it won’t be as good as fresh.

You can reheat the leftover pieces in the air fryer – but usually, we use leftovers for making croutons since it is a great use for leftover toast.
