Looking for a unique appetizer that packs in flavor and texture? Air fryer artichoke hearts are the answer!
Much easier (and less work) to make than full artichokes in the air fryer, these tasty hearts are spiced to perfection so you can eat the whole thing!

Recipe Tips/Substitutions
Before you make these artichoke hearts in the air fryer, read through our recipe tips so that you know what to expect!
- You can buy artichoke hearts jarred in water or artichoke hearts marinated in oil and spices. For this recipe, we would recommend buying the ones in water. If you can only find those in oil, drain them and don’t add any extra oil to the hearts. Depending on the seasonings included, you might also want to adjust the spices you add – if any.
- Parmesan cheese is optional but it gives the artichoke an added flavor boost!
- Since every air fryer is different – and the size of your artichoke hearts might be different than ours, your cooking time might vary slightly.
We use this air fryer for our recipes and it has been great.

First, drain the artichoke hearts, then pat them dry.

Next, cut the artichoke hearts in half lengthwise on a cutting board.

Preheat the air fryer to 380 degrees Fahrenheit. In the meantime, place the artichoke hearts into a baking dish or similar and drizzle oil on them.
Then sprinkle salt, garlic powder, and pepper on top of the hearts.

Lastly, add the shredded parmesan cheese (optional).

Once the air fryer is hot, add the artichoke hearts into the air fryer tray with the cut side facing up.
Make sure that there is a little space between them and they don’t overlap.

Cook the artichoke hearts for 7-11 minutes until the cheese is crispy and the artichoke hearts are slightly browned.

When done, remove the artichoke hearts from the air fryer tray and serve them with a dipping sauce of your choice or eat them as is. Enjoy!
Storage Tips
Air fried artichoke hearts can be stored but they aren’t usually the kind of appetizer you have leftovers for.
Store cooked artichoke hearts in a sealed container and place them in the fridge.
They can last for around 3-5 days – but eat them sooner rather than later because the moisture can make them softer over time.
To reheat, toss them back in the air fryer for a few minutes.
