Recipe Tips/Substitutions
Before you make these fingerling potatoes in the air fryer, read through the recipe tips so that you get great results.
- You can vary the spice blend if you like. We really like garlic powder and fresh rosemary on our potatoes, but if you don’t have any rosemary on hand (fresh or dried), you can also use Italian seasoning.
- Since every air fryer is a little different and the size of the fingerling potatoes can differ, your total cooking time might vary slightly. Just keep an eye on your potatoes for that nice crispy outer layer. You can test the potatoes for inside tenderness with a fork!

Wash the fingerling potatoes, then dry them and cut them in half lengthwise. Remove any black spots if there are any.

Next, preheat the air fryer to 385 degrees Fahrenheit.
In the meantime, add the halved potatoes into a bowl with the oil, salt, garlic powder, chopped rosemary, and black pepper.
Toss everything until the potatoes are evenly coated in oil and spices.

When the air fryer is hot, add the fingerling potatoes. Gently shake the potatoes to avoid overlap as best you can.
If you have a very small air fryer, you might have to make this amount of potatoes in two batches.

Cook the fingerling potatoes for 15-20 minutes until soft, slightly brown, and crispy on the outside.
Shake the air fryer basket every 5 minutes to allow for even cooking. The total cook time can vary slightly by air fryer and size of potatoes.

When the potatoes are done, remove them from the air fryer and place them into a serving bowl. You can garnish them with more rosemary if desired.
Storage Tips
Air-fried fingerling potatoes taste best when they are fresh and crispy.
If you do have leftovers, these little potatoes store well in a sealed container in the fridge. They will last for 3-4 days.
You can reheat them in the air fryer to try and get the outer crispiness back or just toss them in the microwave if you don’t mind them getting a little soft.
What to Serve Air Fryer Fingerling Potatoes With
These fingerling potatoes make a really nice potato side dish that is pretty versatile.
They go really well with lighter meats like lamb, salmon or pork tenderloin – this is because they are often cooked with similar spices or aromas.
You can also serve these potatoes as just one of many side dishes – bacon-wrapped asparagus comes to mind as a nice, fancier side dish option!
