Craving something light, crispy, and totally dippable? Air fryer pita chips are for you!
Easy to make and crispy in minutes, these pita chips are lightly seasoned and the perfect snack or appetizer – just don’t forget the dip!

Recipe Tips
Before you make pita chips in the air fryer, you should read through these recipe tips so that you know just how to make them!
- We use large Lebanese-style pitas for our pita chips. These pitas are airy and relatively thin so they crispy up easily. If you use different pitas, your exact cooking time to get crispy pita chips might vary.
- You can modify them amount of oil and the spice blend to suit your unique tastes. You could add smoked paprika or cayenne pepper for a hint of kick. However, don’t skip the oil completely – otherwise the spices won’t adhere to the pita and might fly around in the air fryer.
- Keep a close eye on the pita chips as they are air frying since they can go from crispy to burned quite quickly. This is especially important when making them in the air fryer for the first time!
We use this air fryer for our recipes and it has been great.

First, cut the round pitas into 8 triangles (first cut them into quarters, then cut these quarters in half again).
At this time, also preheat the air fryer to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.

Place the pita triangles into a mixing bowl. Drizzle the oil on top and add the fine herbs (optional), salt, garlic powder, and black pepper.

Toss everything gently until evenly seasoned.

When the air fryer is preheated, place approximately 8 pita triangles – or however many you can fit in one even layer – into the air fryer.
You don’t want any overlap so that the pita chips crisp quickly and evenly.

Air fry the pita chips at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for 3-5 minutes until crispy. Be sure to flip them halfway through cooking time.
Keep an eye on them since the exact cooking time can vary depending on your air fryer and the brand of pitas you are using.

Once the pita chips are crispy, remove them from the air fryer. Then add the second batch of pita triangles and cook as well.
Serve these air fryer pita chips with hummus, a delicious baked brie, another dip of your choice, or just on their own. Enjoy!
Storage Tips
You can store air-fried pita chips in a sealed bag or container on the counter. Don’t store them in the fridge since the moisture can soften the chips.
Of course, these pita chips are best enjoyed fresh and crispy so definitely eat them sooner rather than later.
We’d recommend eating them within 3-4 days but they might keep for longer.
