It’s ready in minutes – all you have to do is cut, season, and let your air fryer work its magic. You can serve the kielbasa and peppers as a side dish or a simple quick meal.

Ingredients
To make this kielbasa and peppers recipe, here are the ingredients you’ll need:
- Kielbasa – Use your favorite kind of kielbasa. Some are more fatty than others so keep that in mind when air frying.
- Bell peppers – Any color; we like to use yellow and red bell peppers for a pop of color.
- Onion – Optional, but recommended. We use a yellow onion, but you can also use a white or red onion.
- Oil – We use avocado oil, but olive oil, canola oil or vegetable oil also work.
- Garlic powder – Adds extra flavor. Skip if you don’t like garlic.
- Paprika – For extra flavor; adjust to taste.
- Black pepper – Use freshly cracked pepper for the best taste.
Recipe Tips
- Choose any color of pepper you like. Just make sure to cut them into pieces of similar size so they cook evenly.
- If the kielbasa is quite large in diameter, consider cutting it into semi-circles so they are easier to eat.
- If you like onion, you can add some. Cut the onion into rings, but don’t cut them too thin or they may burn in the air fryer.
- Feel free to change the spices to suit your personal preference. We like to keep it simple with garlic powder, paprika, and black pepper. You could add some cayenne pepper if you want a little spice.
- Since the kielbasa is quite salty when cooked, we don’t add any extra salt, but you can if you like.

Step by Step Instructions

First, wash the bell peppers and dry them. Then remove the seeds and cut them into thin strips. Try to cut them evenly so that they will be done cooking at roughly the same time.

Next, peel the onion and cut it into rings. Once again, try cutting it evenly (not like we did in the photo above) as otherwise some rings might get too dark during cooking.
If you don’t like onion, you can skip it – it’s really up to you.

Moving on to the kielbasa, remove the skin if required. Then cut the kielbasa into slices between 1/4 and 1/2 inch thick. If the pieces are quite large, you can cut them in half (see photo above).
At this time also preheat the air fryer to 380 degrees Fahrenheit.

Now add the chopped bell peppers, onion and kielbasa to a large bowl. Also add the oil, garlic powder, paprika and black pepper to the bowl.
Toss or mix everything until the oil and spices are evenly distributed.

When the air fryer is preheated, add everything into the air fryer basket. Shake the basket lightly so that the kielbasa, peppers, and onions are evenly distributed.
There will be some overlap, but that’s okay since our goal isn’t to make everything super crispy anyway.
However, there should still be some room in the air fryer (you don’t want it to be filled right to the top) – in that case, we recommend cooking it in two batches.

Air fry the kielbasa and peppers at 380 degrees Fahrenheit for about 12-16 minutes total or until the kielbasa is slightly crispy and the peppers and onions are cooked.
Shake the air fryer basket approximately every 4 minutes to help with even cooking.
Keep in mind that the exact cooking time can vary by air fryer (some cook hotter than others) and your personal preferences.

When everything is done, place the kielbasa and peppers in a bowl and serve. Enjoy!
Storage Tips
If you have some leftovers, place them in a sealed container and store them in the fridge for up to 3 days. Keep in mind that the bell peppers might get softer over time.
To reheat, we recommend using the air fryer. You can also reheat them in the microwave but this can make the bell peppers even softer.

- Preheat your air fryer to 380 degrees Fahrenheit.
- Place the peppers, onion, and kielbasa in a mixing bowl. Add the oil, garlic powder, paprika and black pepper. Toss until the oil and spices are evenly distributed.1 teaspoon oil, 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder, 1/4 teaspoon paprika, 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- When the air fryer is preheated, add the mixture to the air fryer basket. Shake the air fryer basket so the ingredients settle in one even layer.
- Air fry the kielbasa and peppers at 380 degrees Fahrenheit for approximately 12-16 minutes total or until the kielbasa is slightly crispy and the peppers and onions are cooked. Shake the air fryer basket every 4 minutes to help with even cooking. The exact cooking time may vary based on your air fryer and personal preference.
- When done cooking, remove the kielbasa and peppers from the air fryer, place them in a bowl, and serve!
