To make these tasty stuffed chicken breasts, here are the ingredients that you will need:

  • Chicken breasts – Make sure the chicken breasts are of similar size for even cooking.
  • Spinach – Fresh spinach for the filling.
  • Cream cheese – Adds creaminess and helps bind the filling. Can be flavored cream cheese if you prefer.
  • Feta cheese – Or use shredded mozzarella instead.
  • Olive oil – Alternatively, you can use canola oil, avocado oil, or sunflower oil.
  • Salt – Enhances the overall flavor.
  • Granulated garlic – For extra flavor. You can substitute with minced fresh garlic if you prefer.
  • Black pepper – Adds a hint of spice.
  • Coriander – Optional; adds a subtle earthy flavor.

Step by Step Instructions

This section is all about showing you how to make air fryer stuffed chicken breasts. We have included all of the recipe process photos so that you can follow along at home and use the photos as a visual guide.

Blanch the spinach.

First, preheat the air fryer to 370 degrees Fahrenheit for about 5 minutes or until it indicates that it is preheated.

Meanwhile, blanch the chopped spinach in a pot of boiling water for about 1 minute. Then remove the spinach and squeeze out any excess moisture.

Make the filling.

In a bowl, combine the spinach, feta cheese, cream cheese, granulated garlic, black pepper, and ground coriander (optional). Mix well to make a smooth filling.

Butterfly the chicken breasts.

Cut a pocket in each chicken breast, being careful not to cut all the way through. Season the inside of the pockets with salt (optional – skip if the filling is already very salty).

Spoon the filling evenly into the pockets and close them with the top part of the chicken. You can use wooden toothpicks to secure them if needed.

Brush the outside of the chicken breasts with olive oil (also brush your air fryer if food tends to stick to it). You can also season the chicken breasts with spices of your choice if desired.

Then place the stuffed chicken breasts in the preheated air fryer in one layer and air fry at 370 degrees Fahrenheit for 15 minutes.

Flip the chicken breasts over.

After 15 minutes, flip the chicken breasts over.

Make sure the chicken is fully cooked.

Air fry for another 10-15 minutes, or until the chicken is cooked through and the filling is bubbly. The internal temperature should reach 165 degrees Fahrenheit.

Storage Tips

If you have leftover stuffed chicken breast, allow it to cool, then store it in a sealed container in the fridge.

The chicken will last in the fridge for up to 3 days, but we recommend eating it sooner rather than later.

You can choose to reheat it in the air fryer or the microwave – it kind of depends on whether the leftovers are cut into pieces or were left whole when served.

Whole stuffed chicken breasts work better in the air fryer, whereas cut pieces work better in the microwave. The microwave can make chicken rubbery, though, so keep an eye on it.

There are loads of great sides you can serve with this chicken breast recipe.

  • Potatoes: We like fingerling potatoes or baby potatoes, but you can also make Hasselback potatoes, scalloped potatoes, mashed potatoes, or French fries.

  • Vegetables: There are lots of different vegetables you can serve with the chicken, such as air fried broccoli, green beans, or even air fryer bacon-wrapped asparagus. Of course, steamed vegetables are also an option.
  • Salad: A leafy green salad, Greek salad, or potato or pasta salad all work as well.
