Recipe Tips

Air fryer frozen chicken fries are pretty easy to make, but you can read through these tips to make sure you’re all ready to get air frying!

  • You don’t need to thaw the chicken fries first. Just add the frozen chicken fries to the air fryer.
  • Your cooking time may vary depending on the the brand of frozen chicken fries and how hot your air fryer cooks so use the times below as guidelines only.
  • Some frozen chicken fries are pre-cooked while others may be raw. Be sure to know which kind you have and cook/heat through accordingly. Chicken should have an internal temperature of 165 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • These kinds of breaded foods don’t make a huge mess in the air fryer – but be sure to clean the air fryer after each use because food does get caked on over time.

Place the frozen chicken fries into the air fryer.

First, preheat the air fryer to 380 degrees Fahrenheit.

Once the air fryer is hot, add the frozen chicken fries. There should be a little bit of space between them so that they get crispy and heat evenly.

If you have a very large air fryer, you might be able to fit more than 12 chicken fries. If you have a small air fryer you might not fit them all in one batch.

The chicken fries should be crispy on the outside.

Cook the frozen chicken fries for 9-11 minutes until fully heated through and crispy on the outside.

You don’t have to flip them since they are pretty thin but can if you find one side is cooking faster than the other. Time can vary by air fryer and brand of chicken fries used.

Once done, remove the chicken fries and let them sit for 2 minutes.

You can serve them with your favorite dipping sauce like plum sauce, sweet n sour sauce, or ketchup and a side of fries like waffle fries, curly fries, tater tots, or frozen potato wedges.

Storage Tips

In our opinion, chicken fries taste best when they are hot and fresh out of the air fryer.

If you do have any leftovers, store them in a sealed container in the fridge. Since they are processed, they’ll last for up to 3 days like this.

To enjoy them again, you can eat them cold out of the fridge or pop them back in the air fryer or microwave until heated through.
