Want to make frozen curly fries in the air fryer? It’s quick and easy. You just need to add them to the preheated air fryer and cook them until crispy.
You can enjoy them as a snack with a dipping sauce or as a potato side dish to a larger meal!

Recipe Tips
- There is no need to thaw the fries first. Just add them to the air fryer from frozen.
- You don’t typically need to add any extra oil to frozen curly fries since most brands already contain oil. However, if you want your fries to be extra crispy, you toss them with 1-2 teaspoons of neutral-tasting oil with a high smoke point (e.g. avocado oil) before air frying.
- We recommend preheating your air fryer. This will allow the fries to crisp even better.
- Don’t overcrowd your air fryer so the curly fries can cook and crisp evenly.
- Some brands already contain seasoning. If your curly fries are unseasoned, you can add salt after they are cooked.

Step-by-Step Instructions

First, preheat the air fryer to 385 degrees Fahrenheit (195 degrees Celsius).
When it’s hot, add the fries in one even layer. You might have to cook this amount of fries in two batches if your air fryer is very small (overcrowding means they won’t get as crispy).

Cook the curly fries for about 14-16 minutes, or until they are fully cooked and crispy to your liking.
Shake the air fryer basket every 5 minutes to help with even cooking and crisping. Your overall cooking time can vary depending on the brand of fries and the type/size of your air fryer.

When they are done, remove the curly fries from the air fryer and place them in a bowl. Sprinkle with seasoning salt if the curly fries are not already seasoned (optional).
You can serve them with your favorite dipping sauce. We like ketchup or Chipotle mayo. Enjoy!
Storage Tips
These curly fries taste best when they’re hot and crispy out of the air fryer.
If you have leftovers, you can store them in a sealed container in the fridge for up to 2-3 days. However, keep in mind that they tend to get soggy over time.
To reheat them, we recommend using the air fryer to draw out some of the moisture and make them crispy again.
