Want to make frozen curly fries in the air fryer? You’re not the only one craving some curly fries!
Making air fryer frozen curly fries is definitely an easy way to cook them. You just set them in and let them get crispy.
You can enjoy them as a snack with a dipping sauce or as a potato side dish to a larger meal!

Recipe Tips
If you have any questions about making frozen curly fries in the air fryer, have a read through these recipe tips to ensure you get great fries – every time!
- There is no need to defrost the fries. Simply add them into the air fryer from frozen.
- You don’t typically need to add any extra oil to frozen curly fries since they already contain oil. However, if you want your fries to be extra crispy, you can place the frozen fries in a bowl and add 1-2 teaspoons of neutral tasting oil with a high smoke point (e.g. avocado oil) before air frying them.
- We recommend preheating your air fryer. This will allow the fries to get crispy.
- Some brands already contain seasoning. If your curly fries are unseasoned, you can add salt after they are cooked.
- Be sure to clean your air fryer after each usage to keep it in top condition!

Step by Step Instructions
If you’re interested in seeing the visuals for exactly how we make our air fryer frozen curly fries then have a look below.
Alternatively, you can skip down to the recipe card at the bottom of this post for the temperatures and cooking times.

First, preheat the air fryer to 385 degrees Fahrenheit.
Wait until it is hot, then add in the fries. Try to keep them in one even layer so that they can get crispy.
You might have to cook this amount of fries in two batches if your air fryer is very small (overcrowding means they won’t get as crispy).

Cook the curly fries for 14-16 minutes depending on your desired level of crispiness.
Shake the air fryer basket every 5 minutes to allow for even cooking. Your overall cooking time can vary by brand and the type/size of your air fryer.

Once cooked, remove the fries from the air fryer and place them in a bowl. Sprinkle seasoning salt on them if the curly fries are not already seasoned (optional).
You can serve them with your favorite dipping sauce. Enjoy!
Storage Tips
We recommend not planning for leftovers when making curly fries. They taste best when they’re hot and crispy out of the air fryer.
They tend to get soggy once they get cold and if you try to store them in a container in the fridge they get even moister. So try and make only the amount of curly fries you need.
What to Serve Air Fryer Frozen Curly Fries With
As we mentioned, air-fried frozen curly fries make a good snack on their own. You can dip them into your favorite dipping sauce. We like ketchup or chipotle mayo but there are many others.
As a potato side dish, we enjoy curly fries with frozen chicken strips, frozen nuggets, and even popcorn chicken every once in a while. You can also serve them with homemade burgers for a more filling, summertime meal!
