Recipe Tips/Substitutions

Before you make pancakes in the air fryer from frozen, be sure to quickly read through these recipe tips so that you don’t ruin your air fryer.

  • It is important to note that this is a recipe for frozen pancakes in the air fryer. You should not make homemade pancakes (directly) in the air fryer because they are made with raw batter. It’s not recommended to put runny batter directly in the air fryer because of how air fryers generally work. If you really want to make pancakes from scratch in the air fryer, please use an air fryer safe pan (but this is not what this recipe is about).
  • For frozen pancakes, there are a few different brands to choose from. Some pancakes may be thicker or thinner so be sure to adjust cooking time accordingly. As long as they are heated through and golden brown on the outside you should be good to go!

We use this air fryer for our recipes and it has been great.

Step by Step Instructions

If you wondering how to cook frozen pancakes, you’ll be happy to know that it is very easy.

Place the frozen pancakes into the air fryer.

Simply preheat the air fryer to 375 degrees Fahrenheit.

When it is hot, place the frozen pancakes in the air fryer. Make sure that they fit in one even layer and don’t overlap with one another.

If you can’t fit four pancakes into your air fryer, just use however many you can fit without overlap.

Make sure the pancakes are fully reheated and crispy.

Cook the pancakes for approximately 4 minutes total until fully heated through.

You can flip them over after 3 minutes, but this is not really necessary since frozen pancakes are usually quite thin.

Depending on your preferred level of crispiness, you can cook the pancakes slightly longer.

Also keep in mind that every air fryer is different and that there are many different brands of frozen pancakes. Some pancakes are thicker and some are thinner so your cooking time might vary slightly.

Storage Tips

You should only make enough frozen pancakes that you’ll eat since they don’t store well.

If you store them in the fridge, they can get soggy. Considering they were already frozen and then reheated, it wouldn’t be ideal to heat them again – but it’s a complete no-go.

What to Serve Air Fryer Pancakes With

You can serve these pancakes however you like. A classic combination of toppings is butter and maple syrup.

We usually like maple syrup and another sweet component like frozen berries. Some people also like putting whipping cream or chocolate shavings – to each their own!

Of course you can also serve your pancakes with some bacon or sausages.
